Frampton revel in the spring sunshine...

After being drowned out by appalling weather in last weekends abandoned fixture against St. Mary's Old Boys, Frampton reveled in the glorious spring sunshine to run in a hatful of tries against local rivals North Bristol RFC.

Excellent work at the breakdown, led by Oliver Carey and Morgan Stiles in particular, ensured the home team had plenty of possession and field position from which to launch attacks out wide. With so much good ball to work with, half-backs Tom Howell and Henry Hyatt were able to unleash the strong running Toby Crowley for a hat-trick of tries in both games. North Bristol contributed to some really good rugby and showed great resilience, and no little skill, but could do little to stem the scoring.

The try of the day was set up by strong, direct, running from Charlie Willis who, ably supported in the tight by Jack Mellor, Morgan and Oliver, quickly recycled the ball through at least 5 phases before Marcus Allen at scrum half released the backline for Liam Plant to score in the corner - A move replicated by England later that afternoon in some other fixture being played that day, and one that had spectators from both sides cheering.

The team now takes a couple of weeks off from fixtures for some high-class coaching from the Bristol Rugby Super Sunday team, before entering the final couple of weeks of the 2009 season.
