Frampton took a party of 30 vets to the Old Newtonians Golden Oldies Festival of Rugby in Leicester, in what was an enjoyable and memorable encounter for all. 16 teams from all around the country descended on Old Newts and Frampton were put in a league with Swansea, Leighton Buzzard and Hammersmith/Fulham.

Frampton cruised past Swansea in a unique encounter as they had several Disabled players and it was all part of the spirit of the day.

Tougher games and tight scorelines saw Frampton top there group, 5-0 v Leighton Buzzard and 12-10 v Hammersmith ...and line up a semi final against favourites Burntwood.

The semi final game was an exceptional spectacle and ended 14 pts each after extra time, two tries from Dave John were not quite enough. The game then went to a sudden death drop goal shoot off from the 22. Framptons Mike Weaver was sucessful with his kick but unfortunately Mark Chaplin and Barry Whitehead missed kicks and Burntwood went on to the main final and win the tournemant.

Frampton then went into the Trophy final and won it 10-0 by beating Leighton Buzzard again thanks to tries from Mark Smith and Simon Bond.
