Due to the lack of response of previous appeal for Bar volunteers for Crossbow , this e mail is a direct approach to try and resolve a problem which could become bigger.

The Xbow bar, desperately, needs volunteers. The month of November has 6 spaces not filled on rota of 26 days.

We have volunteers on rota from juniors, wives and even daughters but only 5 rugby playing members.

Please can you consider giving up a few hours of your time each month or maybe every other month.

Full training and assistance will be given.

We do realise many give up time for club already and some ‘dive’ behind bar to help, and we thank you very much for that, but to run bar efficiently and professionally the rota must be nailed down each month.

Just a bit of history and why its important to ‘our’ club...

The rugby club ‘took’ over the running of the bar around three years ago , at a time of difficulty for the CA . The ‘ deal’ was a percentage of bar profits was donated to ‘our’ club...That figure stands at around £20,000 over the last few years .

That money helps to pay pays for specialised professionally coaching , equipment for seniors and juniors, pitch hire, training facilities and much much more.

The bar also provides something that makes our club great...a social venue envied by many other clubs.

Please take a minute to consider if you can help as volunteers have dwindled since the initial surge 3 years ago…and help ‘our’ club.

Once again I would like to ask you generous people, whether you would be able to give up an evening a month, or a couple of hours on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to help us cover the bar.

We are very fortunate to have volunteer bar staff, but due to work/family commitments numbers have started to dwindle and it is being covered by the same people. Full training will be given and any assistance you can give would be very much appreciated. When we have functions at the club the bar is covered by paid staff, if you would be interested in being put on this cover again please let us know.

As you may or may not be aware Parisis are visiting us again in November (11 – 13) and we would like to have volunteers to do an hour behind the bar on the Saturday afternoon, we need to cover it from 12.00 noon to 7.00pm, so again any help you can give would be very much appreciated.

I know we always seem to be asking for your help, but FCRFC is a great social club, and we would like to keep it that way, but we can only do that with your help.
