3rd XV v Whitehall
FRAMPTON 3rd XV TOO STRONG FOR WHITEHALLAn excellent win for Frampton 3rd team at the weekend with strength and experience overturning a good Whitehall team.
Whitehall started the better of the two sides and after scoring two tries, found themselves 14-3 up midway through the first half.
Frampton then upped their game and the combination of strength and experience proved too much for their opponents.
Tries were scored by centre Mike Weaver, scrum half Andy Pullin and No 8 Ricky Shepherd. Weaver added a penalty and flyhalf Lawrence kicked a drop goal.
Great performances were had by Weaves, Wayne Kay and Carl Groves.
Man of the match was again lock Tony Bleakman.

Veterans friendly game
Frampton Cotterell 17 Milford Haven Refinery 31Frampton 3rd xv/vets played host to Milford Haven refinery at the weekend competing against a much bigger side and arguably vets!
Frampton took some time to wake up and found themselves 26 – 0 down after just 20 minutes.
Frampton then woke up and started to play allowing centre Jerry Tiley to go cross the line.
This anglo-saxon match was played with in great spirt and Frampton eventually put some good passages of play together and allowing veteran scrum half Pullin to cross the line twice. Mike Weaver adding a conversion.
This excellent match play with high passion saw Frampton field 12 replacements!
Milford selected Frampton’s No 8 dean morsner as man of match.
As the Milford side were treated to beer of the west country their songs of joy were soon wiped away as they watched their country lose to the English!

Frampton 3rd Team Result
Aretians 21 Frampton Cotterell 60A mixture of experience and pace proved to much for Aretians in this local derby as Frampton rounded off a 1,2,3 for the club making it a great weekend.
Veterans Nick Knight and Brian Rides both 60 + featured in the pack along with Pete Zaff in his 50’s.
Frampton’s experience showed throughout this game but youthfulness also played a major part. Recently demoted winger James Smith felt he had a point to prove and capped off his 18th birthday by scoring 5 tries and giving the selectors something to think about.
Dean Morsner recently back from injury and Jay Suckling who has been on form of late both crossed the line from the back row.
Further tries from veterans Mike Weaver, Andy Pullin and Carl Groves, gave a resounding victory to the 3rd team who were led by replacement skipper Ricky ‘Sunbed’ Shepherd.
Veteran flyhalf Dave Lawrence kicked 5 of the 10 conversion attempts.
It didn’t go completely Frampton’s way as Aretians managed to claim 21 points but a great result played with a lot of character.
FRAMPTON 3 VX - 35 Broad Plain 15 Frampton 3xv travelled to Broad Plain for this merit table fixture and Derek Mayer trophy. With a mixture of experience, youth and determination Frampton came out rightful winners.
Frampton forwards played particularly well with Gwill crossing the line twice. A further score from Ricky Shepherd from a few yards out further increased the score. Broad Plain battled well and the game was entertaining even in the awful conditions. Further tries from Edgy Weaver and Jamie Edmundson allowed Frampton to pull away with Weaver adding a conversion and Mark Chaplin a penalty.
Broad Plain battled hard and scored two tries of their own, converting one and adding a penalty. The game was sealed when scrum half Andy Pullin flung the ball out for the ball to pass along the line and allow winger Jay Suckling to go over in the corner giving Frampton a 35 – 15 win. A great 3rd team performance with man of the match going to Andy Pullin.
